| | Life is living? I really don't know what to write tonight. I do know that I really like this picture of Connor I took today:
Maybe I'll try some writing exercises again. I'll Google some up. I think I got it. I'll go to digg.com, find the most interesting article on the 2nd page, and write about it. Here goes:
Visiting digg.com......
Washington station airs bare breast self-exams - (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33548488/ns/entertainment-television/) Of course I picked the sexy one.
Ok, so this is a story about a TV station that decided to air a two-part series about breast exams. The hang up is that they are showing uncovered breasts (boobs from this point on) on cable television. On ABC none the less. Oh my, they should not do this!
Just kidding. They should totally do this.
I wish America as a whole would just get over it's fear of boobs. Why is it such a big deal? I myself am not a woman, so I don't know the feeling. But the feeling is part of the problem. We hide away boobs. Under shirts, bathing suits. If a guy gets hot on a Summer day, off comes the shirt. But a woman, in public, in most cases has to keep the shirt on. Even women walking around in bras are often called out to cover up.
Now for the TV program, it's for a self-exam. Something every woman should know about. I don't know why you would censor that. Oh, maybe we could make a computer graphic that showed how to do it. Come on, it's science, and it saves lives. Let it be broadcast without people getting upset.
Now lets take a look at this from a different angle. My wife works in a 8 floor office building. So lets create an example. She and I are walking up to her work. She needs me to take something back to the car or something. Anyway, we get into the elevator, and lets say a woman completely topless walks on. This would be totally unexpected, and of course, I gawk. I can't stop looking, I'm just amazed. Boobs, just out in the open like that. Smack, my wife just hit me.
But of course, this is the first time it happens. That is exactly as it would happen. You let any woman do it, and lets say a lot of them start doing it, there are going to be lots of people with their jaw on the floor. Car accidents, the whole 9 yards. But this is caused by the shock of it not happening before. What if that happened every day?
Lets use the cleavage example. Lots of women love to show it off, some to the point that even women can't help but look. That's something I and lots of other guys get drawn into. Every time you see it, you look. And you judge, and then it's gone. But you still look. I wonder if bare chested would be the same. Cleavage is a little bit of a gift. Not all women use it. Lots of women just cover up that part. Some can't show it properly, some show way too much, some because their beliefs say you shouldn't. So I'm thinking topless would be the same.
But after the initial shock, it would just be there. Boobs are power for women though. They may not want to give that up. How many movies or TV shows have you seen where a woman exposes her boobs and the guy is in total shock. Wide eyes, mouth hanging open. That's power. They can render our sex into mindless zombies. If anyone could expose their boobs, then alot of that power would be taken away.
Now at work, this probably shouldn't fly. No cashiers at Target should go topless. But come on, why not beaches? Pools? Parks? Have you seen a modern Bikini? What part of that really hides away your body? Sure, it covers up the intersting areas, but anyone with an imagination can see though that. Bikinis are like ultimate clevage.
So, in conclusion, what do I think should happen? I think boobs should be shown on TV without any hastle, and women should be able to go Topfree at the beach and pool. If you are against that, people should form a private pool with a dress code.
That was fun to write about.
Goodnight.
